I was a little skeptical at first to invest in a foreign DN.
Not knowing much about them.
But I did see this name available and thought it was a good one.

I also saw on the front page of Sedo that exhibition.tw sold for 850 US dollars
So when I saw that I thought I would take a chance.

PAR.tw

And yes they do play golf in taiwan :)

Over one billion results on Google

Any thoughts on it and what it might be worth
Thanks

I'm not an apraiser but I'm eagerly waiting a result because in my opinion I think that's a good snag.

Golf is actually huge in Taiwan , like the Japanese they will even travel to Thailand and the Phillipines to play a few cheap rounds.

Golf.tw would be a superb name, par.tw on the other hand is a fair 3 letter one word (possibly not used by mandarin speakers?) that may pick up a low $xxx if you are lucky- but who knows. :gl:

When I see some of the names that are selling for $xxxx - anything is possible in today's market.

From what I am seeing on Sedo
Exhibition.tw sold for 850 usa
presents.tw sold for 1950 euro
And there is a bunch that someone has on there that is one word .tw and in my opinion not good one words for 9,999
All of the pars in all of the extensions are taken except of course the co.whatever .---company ones :)
And yes I did check taiwan golf before I bought it----they have members only clubs and they have travel packages to even go and play golf there

par? I think most of Taiwanese know what golf is, but par, is not so popular, after all, English is not mother language to Taiwanese.
So if you want to reg some .TW, please bear in mind, we are preferred "simple"(very common, and easy to remember and use) and "short" English domains.
par is short but not simple to us, that might explain why there are still many 3 letter .tw domain left, IMHO.

I understand that but if you look at all the foreign domain names that english is not their language---the majority of the domain names that are bought and sold appear to be english.
Are you saying exhibition is easier to say in taiwanese than par
Or presents that just sold today for 1950 euro is easier to say than par
I guess I was just thinking it was a very universal name with all the other extensions taken.

I agree with you on this point, and to be honest, when I saw these 2 sales, I thought the buyers MUST BE foreigners
because most of Taiwanese will only buy singular term and easy spelling English instead of difficult ones. And yes, "exhibition" is not a simple English to most of Taiwaese.
I can only assume that the buyer bought it for overseas markets to recruit foreigner compaies to join trade shows in Taiwan.

However, if you bought par.tw is mainly for Taiwanese common buyers, chances are not very good IMO.

But maybe I am wrong that I do not play golf and am not familiar with it either, if par is a hot term of golf, it might have a bigger market than I thought of.

Good luck!

I certainly do not agree with this. :bah:

I have sold 3 .tw, Blogs.tw , CreditCards.tw , Notebooks.tw - each for in excess of $xxxx - all to resellers.

Par.tw will have value to somebody somewhere.

Good luck
