analysis I analyzed 10,000+ AI Company Names to Identify Top Keywords, Trends & More

I went through 10,029 AI company names to find the top keywords and what AI companies are actually using for not only their brand names, but also their domain names.

Data was pulled from Y Combinator portfolios, Crunchbase, Bloomberg, a16z's Top 50, Product Hunt, GitHub awesome lists, healthcare AI directories, fintech trackers, government and defense AI lists - 67 sources, 54 industry categories, 20+ countries.

I wasn't "shocked" by that, but definitely a little surprised how many were using labs.

Great analysis. The maim question is: how many of the one"s using 'labs' as suffix, are using .ai compared to .com? I would guess that the wast majority would be .com and also a guess, the wast majority of .ai users would only have one word, without suffix.

Fair callout as this was based on company names and not domains per se. But I did study in-use domains separately and still found enough taken/developed and in sales history to validate registering more of the types of names I did.

A key distinction I always make are what are the available alternatives before I reg a .ai - I like to make sure the .com is unattainable and prefer when the keyword(s)+AI .com is also taken/unattainable.

Can I ask why? Would you prefer to take the Coms first, before .ai or is it just to gauge interest

then 'trump' the Coms with the ai ?

It’s strategic so the end user doesn’t have other options to choose from and solidifies demand for your domain should they choose to brand themselves that name

saw that the Word was taken in Singular + Plural/ Com, various other checks, then forgot to check
for .ai until after I'd bought it.

It is also taken in .ai (so I presume that's not you ).

Do you have a pricing formula for a Word+AI / Com to come in under the asking price of the .ai?
