Why you must add "and" in the domain?
Anyway, apples-oranges.com is okey but considering it is apples-and-oranges.com, I would go .info one.
Just IMO.

Maybe "apples and oranges" isn't the best example. Here's one that might fit my situation better:

When people talk about Bonnie and Clyde, they say Bonnie AND Clyde. They don't say Bonnie Clyde. So wouldn't bonnieandclyde.com be preferable to bonnieclyde.com? I think in this case, "and" is actually a good thing.

Ultimately, I'm having trouble ranking the alternatives to bonnieandclyde.com. Here's what's available to me:

bonnie-and-clyde.com (Pros: .com, includes "and". Cons: hyphenated)
bonnieandclyde.info (Pros: includes "and", no hyphen. Cons: .info)
bonnie-clyde.com (Pros: .com, shorter. Cons: no "and", hyphenated)
bonnieclyde.net (Pros: better than .info, no hyphen, short. Cons: no "and", not .com)

You see what I'm saying? It's hard to weigh the pros and cons.

I would think that since you're making a site with content the hyphens are not that important. The hyphens won't hurt your page ranking and they won't matter to the search engines.

There wouldn't be type-in traffic either way (with the hyphenated .com or with the standard .info). I'd probably go with the hyphenated .com for a content site.

Thank you both. I'm going with xxxxx-xxxxx.com. Your input kept me from going around in circles all night!

actually, I prefer the unhyphenated secondary TLD's over a hyphentated domain. Just because I think of the two, I think the secondary domain is less likely to be misstyped as the unhyphentated dot-com.

Hyphenated .com or a .info unhyphenated name, in both cases you are bound to lose some amount of type-in traffic. So I guess it won't matter if you go for either of the two. Out of the two I would go for a hyphenated .com.

For a content site I would agree that it does not really matter if it has hyphens or is a .info. However, if you are planning for your site to be an authority on your chosen subject matter and stand out from the rest then I would suggest looking for an alternate .com with no hypens.
