This is really weird okay a friend called me about 30 minutes ago asking for some help since his computer keeps getting shut down by remote produdure something or another. Basically you get a minute to save all of your stuff then your computer turns off, I was like well thats bad news, just go to a tech shop. Well about 20 minutes ago the downstairs computer started showing the SAME EXACT message and its NEVER had any problems like that before. Now Im afraid its a big virus since neither of us had firewalls that were any good AND Im afraid theyre getting it from AOL lol since they were on it when it happened and so Im staying off AOL until then lol.

Its not really a virus Id say more of a hackers loophole.

Same :)
-This was actually a lot easier to get rid of than things I've had in the past.

do you have a link for patch?

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=823980

Follow that, then go down till you see a section called resolution. There you will find links to download the patch that fixes that. Hope that helps you! And you guys are welcome! After messing with my computer for hours, I dont' want anyone else to have to go thru that.

Here is what I went thru:

I just started getting those error messages about not being able to open the file called TFTP916 about thursday. I didn't think anything of it, cause that happens to me a lot. But then I started to get those termination {Remote Procedure Call} messages. I reinstalled my os twice plus did the update instead of install when that didn't work. I contactd gateway (where my computer come from) for support. They solved the part about both error messages, by turning off some options in my control panel. But I wanted to know what was behind that. Then the support tech gave me instructions to format my drive (write zeros to it) and after formating my drive and reinstalling it still happened. So, I followed the link in the startup error message for going to the microsoft site to see if there was a solution there. There wasn't but there was a link to filext.com and I followed it looking for a lead. At the top of the page, they had a hottopic like box, and lo and behold, there was a link to a topic in the forums that described my error messages exactly. The rest is history. I had reinstalled, formated the drive, cried, almost gave up. I dont' want anyone else to have that kind of problem. It appears that the thing attacks those computers that have a constant connection to the internet like mine, and the more computer that are exposed to it the more get infected. So, I suggest backing up all files and totally reinstalling (if that is an option for you) and then following the instructions in the article whom's link I posted. I knwo this was a long post, but I didn't want anyone to think I was calm about this, cause I tell you I wanted to thro my computer out the window.

Also, I have found zonealarm to be my best friend now! I am going to scan my computer for viruses every other day to insure that I never have that problem again. I hope I really helped you guys out like that article helped me. <3
