how u can save $ on domain renewal (for example in Goddady)

1. transfer to another registrar and use coupone code (~save1-2$ )
2. use coupon code for renewal (~-10%)

is 10% the maximum that u can find?
as i understand , mostly coupons are for domain registration, not renewal.
