Hi,

I just launched a new worldwide classifieds website, but I'm still unable to promote it.

I need your advice on how to promote the site and get people to register and post ads.

Thanks

Ha, yeah, the first thing you should have done was mention the URL with a live link as that would be promoting it!! ;)

Forums are a great place to promote stuff as they get a lot of views.

Anyway... classifieds..... it goes wothout saying (but I'll say it anyway) that you need to concentrate on placing any Ads or Llinks on relevant sites for what you are selling.

PPC is fine for starters, create a Google Adwords account and make sure you get your keywords and geo-targeting right and deeplink into the actual product pages where relevant.

On that note, I'd also make sure you ask for text links on related sites or buy Ads that direct straight to the products themselves.

For example:

If you are selling everyting from Cars to Flower Pots to Televisions then in teh case of Flower Pots, you should find Flower Store or Garden Centre websites and have a link giong straight to your Flower Pots section of the site. Having people directed to your home page is wasteful as they likely wont be bothered to find the flower pots and give up.

Therefore, its all about proper targeting. This will ensure you get the right traffic hitting the right places on your site.

PPC is the best option for your site if its a worldwide classifieds site.

I checked your site out, I feel a worldwide classifieds would be way to hard to promote ... maybe wrong though.

why don't you just do a one country classifieds? Much easier? Like the country of your origin?

Here is mine RuralStar.com Australian Rural Business Listings, Rural Classifieds, Rural Events and Rural Articles

Hi Billy,

You might be right, but I believe the site will get a good revenue if it becomes popular. The problem with my country is that people who know or use the internet for classifieds are limited.
