What is the best approach to increase the PR for my unused domain name?

I believe that the best way to increase PR is to get back links as much as possible

There really isn't a good way to increase PR for an unused domain name.

Increasing PR requires backlinks. No directory or site is gonna give you a link back to an unused domain.

I set a few of my DNs to forward to one of my sites that has a good PR. All of the fwd'd sites picked up the PR in like a month.
I've never listed any of them anywhere or exchanged links or anything, just have them directed to my main site.

Only problem with that is that google bans those names. The spiders will stop indexing them so hard to sell if buyer finds out. I have a PR6 domain that I bought and then put a mini-site, then found out it's a redirect. It's useless unless I contact Google about it and then it will lose the PR6. So...it's just sitting there and I get a little traffic from old backlinks and MSN and Yahoo. I can't sell it as a PR6 because I'd have to be honest about the google ban.

If you are looking for a high PageRank, you have to have a site at the domain. That's really the only way you can legitimately achieve this.

Its been that way for about 6 months now. The fwd'd DNs still have the PR and are not banned or at least the whois says they are not. I've never submitted any of them to be indexed by the spiders nor will I cause if I do then they may ban the sites. But if I don't submit them then hopefully they won't get banned... 6 months running so-far (fingers crossed)
