I found a little trick that allows you to have emojis as your username and company name on LinkedIn. These could be worth a lot of money to certain companies once there's a market for them. If a market's going to be created for them, other people should have them too—which is why I decided to give this method away instead of hoard all of the usernames for myself. Consider yourself early.

Context

  • Usernames have a 3 character limit while Company Usernames have a 1 character limit
  • There's only 2 known Unicode Blocks that work: Dingbats (U+2700 - U+27BF) & Miscellaneous Symbols (U+2600 - U+26FF)

Unicode Blocks
  1. Dingbats (U+2700 - U+27BF): https://unicode-explorer.com/b/2700
  2. Miscellaneous Symbols (U+2600 - U+26FF): https://unicode-explorer.com/b/2600

How to Guide (Usernames)
1. Find and copy a Unicode character you like from the "Dingbats" or "Miscellaneous Symbols" Unicode Blocks
2. Go to your LinkedIn account's Public Profile Settings
3. Where it says "Edit your custom URL" paste your desired Unicode character
Note: Your URL must contain 3-100 characters
4. Click "Save"

How to Guide (Company Usernames)
1. Find and copy a Unicode character you like from the "Dingbats" or "Miscellaneous Symbols" Unicode Blocks
2. Go to Create a Company Page on LinkedIn
3. Click "Company"
4. In the "Name" section, paste your desired Unicode character
Note: Your URL must contain at least 1 character, but I'm unsure about maximum
5. Fill out the other required information
6. Click "Save"
