How to get traffic to parked page

I have my names parked at a popular parking service. I have a couple hundred names parked and I am making literally peanuts a day.

I just emailed their support and was told I have some great domain names, but they are just not the type that get direct traffic and thats why I am not making much money.

The help person told me to talk on the forums and ask for ideas on how to direct traffic to my names for free. She says I can find places that will give me traffic to my parked pages for no cost at all.

Is this true?. I know I cannot buy traffic from places like adwords as they will kick me off. But what are the free traffic places that I can use?.

She says all I have to do is contact her with the source and then she can approve or not approve the free traffic.

Anyone know of a source for free traffic I can use for my parked pages?

I've never heard of a parking program that allows promotion of names, even though it has come from a customer service person I'd read the TOS, I find the reponse very suprising.

To answer your question domain parking is for domains that already have traffic, if you you have names with no traffic the options are either sell the names or develop sites.

Most of them have some traffic and a few 100 or more landings a month.

But I can assure you the rep did say there are certain free ways to get traffic to my parked pages with them.

Out of respect for my parking provider I won't say who they are, but they are a dominant leader in parking. I too found their answer confusing as I always thought there was no way to direct traffic to a parked page.

1. Try 1plus.net or use a mini-site with content that is searchable.
2. Sell your couple hundered domains, and get about 2 or 3 good ones, you can find domains on namepros to purchase that already make a steady revenue stream.
3. if you had 200 domains at a renal rate of 8$ at $1600, the savings alone would put you ahead, unless you make regular sales of these peanut domains.

My understanding of parking has been that the traffic needs to come from natural sources. If you get a specific REAL answer. Please share. Ultimately if the name host allows the parked names to have traffic directed towards them...it shouldn't really be a secret and it shouldn't matter to you to share the name. When you figure everything out. Please post who the company is. There are probably many of us that would consider parking with them.

Franchise thanks for your insights. thks, Commander, It already is parked in a mini site provider.

I am now wondering if the parking provider rep meant having my names in my signature as I notice many do that. I had always thought you can't make a live link from a fourm like this to your parked pages. Can you do that?

When I placed a name under my posts in a forum I always left out the www. So the link was not live. Maybe the lady meant I can push visitors to the parked page by having links in my forum posts?

TBH, I think live links in forums are not strictly allowed, but many turn a blind eye as the amount of traffic they send is very minimal. I am astounded a customer service rep has told you it is possible to direct traffic to parked names, as I am sure it is against T.O.S with most parking providers. I suggest calling them back and asking for a specific place you can get this traffic from. If you get an answer, please pm me with the result!!

In general though, parked names should have existing traffic, either from being typed into the browser, or from existing links to an expired website.
