End User sales Question ?

I would like to know typically how many number of end user emails will be sent on an average to sell any particular domain ?

Please share your stats on these.

depends on the domain, sometimes it can be hundreds... not as easy as it sounds by any means, alot of work, and many times deals fall through, sorry to sounds so negative, but that is really how it is. You really have to show trust, you have to be on your game, and you have to sell your domain. But quality of domain helps.

I completely agree with wwwweb. I have sent over 1000 emails till now to end users and made just 1 sale of xx,xxx and that paid off the hard work I did in those couple of months time.

Thanks wwwweb for your kind reply, I am new to this.
For few of my domains I tried sending 25 mails for each domain and did not get any reply.
It was discouraging for me a bit.

Thanks abdulbasituae.
I think most of the mails sent will be treated with less significance by end users, any steps to be followed to convey a strong message to them ?

Please correct me if I am wrong .

I am thankful to all of your replies.

Newer domainers really, really, REALLY need to focus on attaining the configural-reasoning processes that go into comprehending name quality before they jump ahead to dissecting end-user sales tactics.

If you posses the former, the latter becomes trivially easy. End-users *will buy* quality names. They *will not* buy awful names.

Considering you have a decent name, try to get at least 40-50 end users per email. Don't price your domains too high when you are starting out. It's easier to sell if you price them fairly when starting out and as you gain confidence you will get both better domains to sell and at higher prices. The best time of this year for me was around mid year. Out of every 2/3 domains I marketed, 1 was sold. I was converting sales like crazy.

So true. I've received solicitations from domainers that are a true embarrassment :red:

PokerBoard.Net is a good domain. If you are going to sell to end users focus on .Com, .Net, and .Org. Forget .Biz, .Info, and any others ; there is plenty of those available and demand is very low.

Thanks for the reply, I agree with you.
Now I am on only .Com & .Net domains

I need some advice on finding end user leads and making proper conversions.

Help is greatly appreciated.

Anyone here to help ?

I think a good suggestion is to read the whole thread (this one). Yes is a bit long, but you will find so many tips, experiences, questions and answers. All you have to do is read it carefully. Then try to evaluate every point and annotate the best lessons somewhere.
Another precious thread you have to read carefully is "Report domain name sales here".

(Imho)

How do you guys read between the lines of an "I'm interested" response. I get a few that simply say "how much?". These seem to be low interest type responses.

Is there any correlation between how long or short the "I'm interested" response is and interest?

Good idea to have a specific focus. You might even decide on specific type of domains. That being said, don't rule out .org. IMHO still a strong extension when used right! it is still possible to get some relevant strong .org domains at very fair prices.

i don't think so.

recently, i received a "how much" reply (not even a hello, just these two words "how much?" lol), i replied with a price (xxx), deal. payment received. name transfered. done!

last month i received a very friendly email from a lady (it was like a novel) replying to my offer,,, she told me that she is going to marry soon and some other totally irrelevant stuff and at the end she mentioned that she is really really really interested in the name ...... she never bought the name (even though a good price).

then again, another lady replied with an email (also a long one) and she bought a name from me.

so, i think you never know.

That's exactly how I feel about this end user name game. If they really want it, trust, they will pay whatever price you ask for and umm if it's just something they've seen and like then (maybe) they are just playing around wasting your time asking "how much" blah blah..

What email service do you guys use to contact end users?? Recently I got a message from Dynadot support that they may close my account if I keep emailing end users because some of my msgs got flagged as spam!
Now that is ridiculous and scary considering I own hundreds of domains.
It is funny because I only send out MAYBE 20 msg a week, but they are saying its unsolicited mail..and it is..we are all doing it.
Needles to say I have stopped using my hosting/email account with them to contact end users...and don't know what to do!!!
What are you guys using?? Free email accts??
