What would be the better email address to use:

owner@Actual Domain Name.com or

or a gmail or yahoo address ?

I would lean toward owner@Actual Domain Name.com but am looking for advice on this subject (pros and cons)

Neither. Use a University e-mail address (@msu.edu) or a business addy (@bloomberg.net, @microsoft.com, etc.). Non-profits work too.

Are you talking about the email to send from? I would make sure it matches the whois info since many people are savvier than you would think and will look at the whois info.

Personally I think non free emails @domain.com provide more credibility that a Yahoo/Hotmail/Gmail or other free email.

Yes I am talking about an email to send from.

Personally I don't trust @yahoo, hotmail, etc. emails unless I know the person sending it.

Emails with [email protected] with a link to yourdomain.com and matching business name get more respect and legitimacy assigned to it.

Too much spam originating from free email accounts and spammers use these accounts to fish for emails for their spam lists. As such, I never respond to an email from these accounts unless I personally know the person (and 100% of the time it is a non-business related email.)

I offer same advice to all our clients.

Just completed my first end-user sale

[CampingCanada(.)net] for mid xxx. Name has been transferred. Not big money, but an end-user sale nonetheless. I'm laying the ground work for another one. Who knows, I might get lucky.

Brad, Josh and Tom are all correct.

If you want to be taken as a serious professional DO NOT use a freebie address. It's an instant red flag that signals SPAM and you may not even make it through the junk filter.

Personally, I use my dedicated biz addresses when contacting prospects.

You only get one shot at making the right first impression. Make it count.

Will something like this suffice for an end user email?

Subject: whatever.com

Dear John Doe,

My name is Eric and I am the owner of whatever.com. I have put this domain on sale and I believe that it is an appropriate fit for your business. It is an accurate, keyword friendly generic term and has extraordinary potential for development.

Whatever.com currently receives around 50 visitors a day which arrive at the domain mainly from direct navigation. We all know that monthly search volume is important, well according to Google's search data the term "whatever" receives about 50,000 searches per month.

I have sent this email to three other companies that may posses an interest in it (list other companies here).

If you have any questions whatsoever or would like to go ahead, then feel free to contact me at:

[email protected]
555-555-555

Kind Regards,
Eric

For those who call endusers online, what service do you use? I subscribed to Skype's unlimited US/Canada service twice in the past, and the person on the other end can never hear me or hears hollow sounds. Can anyone offer their experience with RingCentral, k7.net, swiftvox or any others you use??

Nice :kickass:

Did you send them an email or did they contact you?

I emailed about 6 spanish site owners who had video sites. Assume it was one of them.

I include the sedo listing link as standard, gives the buyer more trust since sedo is so much bigger than me.

Got a $200 offer, sent it to auction, no other bids, closed for 200, got the money via masspay today ;)

Nice job samit - I have always been wary of buying domains targeting foreign endusers mainly because i have had 0 luck to date. has anyone else had good results selling to foreigners, and if so which countries seem the most promising, also what extension were you offering.

I havent even got a reply from any foreign enduser, do you compose the email in their language or provide a translation?

English only tbh. Even though some people can't read it, its better than a machine translation.

And sedo has multiple interface languages if they need a translation.

And the name isn't exactly foreign language, at least not the tube part.

Sold one domain (reg. fee domain) to a guy in France for $500.
Had lots of emails due to his limited English.
