How to edit web template downloaded from the internet?

Hi,
Recently I downloaded on simple web template from the templatebox.com .
When I went to edit that template I was not able to edit it.
Actually most of the portion of template is in the form of images like"home" links in the image and many other things also.(I don,t want to change those images)
These images are jpeg images and when i try to edit them in ms paint, paint explorer unknowingly gets closed.
Please tell if there is any software that can edit that template, or anyway provide me with some good template that can be edited easily without any such problem.
Your suggestions are welcome so plz suggest whatever you know regarding this.

in the download package, do they also supply a file with a *.PSD extension ?

if so, this is a Photoshop file. You would be able to edit all of those images easily with Photoshop.

If they dont't provide you with that type of file, then you may be stuck with trying to edit all the images in whatever image editor you have unfortunately

Also if you have fireworks witch is what I have you can edit a PSD also there maybe like another similiar file for other programs like fireworks.

You can edit the link images if you have photoshop knowledge. Look for the PSD files in the package. That would be much easier.

Its very easy. Just use ImageReady or Fireworks and edit the images. Also look the CSS file.

you can edit those templates using frontpage or dreamweaver
