How to determined if an aged domain if worth anything

I've spent hours trying to figure out which seems to be a puzzle to me. I found this site and it is 14 years old. I went to the google banner site to see if it was banned. It said it doesn't appear to be banned but it is 14 years old. Doesn't seem like nothing has been done to it, I guess. Not sure if the site was ever dropped. Is there a way to tell that. My main question is if you buy an aged domain with pr does it mean it's worthless. Plus is there to download a list of domains that I can filter through or is t hat a thing of the past. Thanks.

you can check dropday.com to find expiring domains(paid membership). it gives you all the details (alexa, PR and so on).

Check archive.org for history on the domain.

You know, Google at least tries to reset domains when they get bought and sold. It's a difficult thing for them to determine with complete certainty when a domain doesn't actually expire, however if they see the Whois information change, see the nameserver pointers change and see the actual content change significantly that's usually enough to raise plenty of red flags for them. In which case the domain would be reset to be as if it were brand new.
