Goto domaintools and order a Whois report. You'd be suprised to find out that 95% of the time the Whois info is available upon registration before Whois protection is added. The service is worthless to me for this point.

Often you can find an related e-mail address ending in the domain name. Most websites publish an e-mail address somewhere on the website.
