NameCheap Whois Guard Glitch/Error ??

When a domain is transferred or registered at namecheap, the user gets a free whois guard subscription for one year.

Today, when I was transferring a domain from godaddy to namecheap the whois guard was added to the cart and added to my account after I paid. The domain transfer failed due to a typo in the EPP code and the money i paid was added to my account as a credit. The whois guard subscription was still there..

I repeated the process above and this time the domain transferred successfully. When I reinitiated the transfer an additional whois guard credit was added to my account..

Has anyone experienced anything similar?

I contacted namecheap and let them know about what I found.

I am not promoting this at all just wanted to get everyones input on it.

Yes, your whoisguard subscriptions are still in your account, even if the domain isn't. Same thing happens if you transfer domains away. Presumably to apply to another domain?
