Here is a breakdown I posted a few weeks ago on the steps I use to find the contact information I need.

One additional piece of advice that's not in the below and may be useful, is that often big companies will have a section on their website that has a bio on each of the members in the "Leadership" or "Management" team. It's a great way to find the names and job titles of the relevant leads.

Usually these are the steps I'll take -

Firstly, look at the whois of the current domain and look up the registrants name on Linkedin. Sometimes you get lucky and the registrant is the person you're looking for. If not, you still might be able to find the email format for their organisation i.e. [email protected], [email protected] etc. If there is privacy, not to worry, we can still find what we need later on.

Then I'll go to Linkedin, look up the company and search until I find the person I want to contact. Once I know their name, I can use the email format I discovered previously to decipher what their email is. For example, if the persons name is Dave Johns, I might now know his email address is [email protected].

If you weren't lucky enough to find the email format in the whois information, there are a few other options.
  1. Go to mailtester.com and try different combinations till you get the right email (some mailservers don't allow verification, so if that's the case, I move onto the next option.)
  2. Try searching for different strings with exact matches on Google e.g "[email protected]" (with the " "). Hopefully you'll get some results from meeting minutes, press releases, articles, interviews etc.
  3. Sometimes those at the very top are protective giving out their email address, so if step two doesn't work, you'll need to search for someone lower in the organisation to find the email format. You can try lower level people within the business (pr & marketing people are great because they put their contact on everything), so repeat step two with these names.
  4. Last resort of just searching for "email @business.com" and hoping you get a hit.
Popular email format combinations to try are - JohnSmith@, John@, JohnS@ JSmith@, J.Smith@, John.S@ John.Smith@

In my experience, the smaller organisations tend to have John@, whilst the larger ones are more likely to use something with a dot such as John.S@

I do this all day, everyday with about a 95% success rate.

How about these guys? http://www.rwmanila.com/ , I have made numerous attempts on getting their attention by sending emails to their WHOIS contact? I have also tried Linkedin to get the names of some decision makers? I think they would like what I have to offer. Anyone can send me a PM perhaps I am open to a partnership.

Cheers!

@gilescoley,

1) How do send emails? Do you use a branded domain email something like domains/at/Your-Branded-Company-Domain-Name.com or a free email provider like gmail/yahoo/etc? Do you have a one consistent email id or domain, or you rotate or use new email ids for different domains?

2) Any negative blowback? like complains about unwanted soliciting, spam reporting, etc .... If so, how do you deal with it?

I will happily give you 50% profit if you sell my domains in that range ;) ( ok, after taxes and fees )

How many domains got you 30K? 4 or 5?

I actually use a few different email addresses, including my hotmail address. I have a spreadsheet of who has been email using which address. I also regular companies who have bought from me in the past and I use the same address for them as we have a trusting relationship and they know me. I email the same person from that company as well if I think they may be interested

I have had negative feedback in the past, but i try and be polite and professional at all times. (unless they get abusive and act like a prick) which hardly ever happens, most people will just say "not interested" and then I thank them for their time and wish them all the best for the future

How many domains got you 30K? 4 or 5?

3 names
