Hey you all,
I signed up couple days ago. Finally after 13 years in the domain business I am joining a forum. I was in high school back in 1999 when started reserving domains. Then took a break finished up BA, MA and now Ph.D. Since I am done (almost) with all my schooling I thought to sign up and learn from you all see what's new and what's not anymore.
Domain name searching have always been with me and I have honestly a vast amount of experience that I 'll be glad to share. I remember one of my first ever domains was LookingForTheOne dot com. How did I get into domain registering?
In 1999 I remember sitting at home in the summer time and heard on T.V. "Watch Ch7 News at 5 or you can go to our website via Prodigy at 7News dot com). Right at that time I said to myself so hold on if this news ch in Florida is calling itself 7news dot com it means that there only can be ONE 7news in the entire world with the dot come name. So the race was on. Surprisingly I was just a tad bit too late. Most one worders were long taken EVEN in 1999. I knew certain businesses will be taking off by the turn of the century which was 2000. The one I was going for was the dating business and entertainment and travel. Looked for Dating dot com was taken, Dates dot com was taken. That s how my first ever domain was LookingForTheOne dot com
