Hey, I'm hoping one of you mroe experience npers can help me out with this question.

I know Pr adds value but exactly how much. Say I'm considering purchasing a domain that is pr3. The problem? The name itself isn't anything significant nor brandable.

I'd like to know how much would a name that is pr3 on average be worth even if the name itself is the worse name you can find.

I'm also curious. I see some pr 3 domains but they have barely any backlinks at all. How is that possible?!? Does this mean their ranking won't last?

PR doesn't really mean that much, it can be faked as well.

The domains that you see that have few backlinks but high pr usually have backlinks with low obl from other high pr websites to them. Domain age sometimes factors into this as well.

As for the actual value of a pr3 domain that has a horrible name it really depends what you are planning to do with it.

I would take a close look at the backlinks to the pr3 site you are thinking about buying. Seospyglass is a decent way to check this, or linkdiagnosis.com

I think there are many thing that make our web page get rank.
backlinks are claimed as great way to ranked, but i think there are another thing that your page have too. Your page must have traffics. And I guess if there are many site that have rank with just little backlinks, this page should be have good traffics.
And value added that our page get rank is depend your domain name and that will straight, your name good and value added is good and if bad you get no value added.
This just my opinion. CMIIW

This is a great question, thanks. I'd love to hear people's opinions too.

We're always hearing that PR doesn't count for anything. And I'm one of those who tends to agree with this. Yet it's always being mentioned, even I will include a site's PR if any potential buyer is asking about the site.

So, does PR matter or doesn't it?

PR is useful when you want to do paid review or selling link. It can be used to link to your main domain also.

you need to have both PR and backlink. only PR will not be much value as it may be a fake one. PR2 and 100+ baklink is good.

If I were to put a value on Pagerank alone, assuming that it's legitimate, I would set a low-end of $20 for PR3 and $40 for PR4. That's just based on my experience, and what I see in the wanted/sales threads here at Namepros.

pr3 has no value if it has an insignificant amount of backlinks. Now if has thousands of backlinks from different sites then its another matter entirely.
