Hi guys, I have been on Sedo and Go Daddy and have found quite a few domains that I am interested in for starting up my website, particularly on Sedo, but they all say "make offer".

The problem is I have no idea how much to offer and I can't make an offer on all of them obviously, and I also don't want to have to wait up to seven days for a reply, especially if my offer is no where near what they are looking for.

Is there any way to estimate what to offer for specific domains?. Should I offer near what the free domain appraisals say there worth?

Many Thanks

Danny

Hi guys, This has been posted under domain discussions also but I thought this may be a better place to get an answer. Never offer what automated appraisals value the name at. You will be digging yourself a very deep hole.

It's impossible to value a name without knowing what exactly it is.

There is a pre-purchase appraisal section here that may help.

Good luck

Pm me the domains and I will try to give you the reasonable price for them.

Dont trust free domain appraisals tools.

Thanks for the reply, I might put the domains on the pre purchase section for appraisal then?

A domain is worth whatever someone will pay for it. For you to determine how much you should pay for it, decide what you want to do with the domain. Are you going to park it? Develop it? Resell it?

1) at the end of the day, if you end user, your offer will depend on how good you think that particular name fits your project.
2) You can star bidding low to get the negotiation going.
3) unless you want to risk ending up buying multiple names, you will need to get response on your offer (or wait 7 days of no response) before making offer on another domain

Put in $60 just to see if they have a threshold... sometimes it will say "must be higher than $3000". You can cancel before following through.

Best answer. Don't use Sedo.

If you bid the minimum of $60, usually you will be told what the owner requires as a minimum bid. Although I'm not saying they will always accept the minimum bid. This will give you a ball-park to decide if you can afford these domains.

Also. You should take time to make sure you buy the right domain for your needs. You should never rush into that decision. So your keenness to conclude a deal, is mis-founded.

To be clearer. I mean just enter a value into Sedo just to see if they have a "minimum offer filter". Don't actually make the bid.
