Hi, i listed some domains on sedo but no offer or sales yet. What should i do to make sales?

Sedo suggested some price for my domain in the range $299-$1999 but i chose 'make offer' and there is still no offer yet.

i got one inbox offer of 9k for a .tv but i later detected it was all those appraisal scam i read here.

How can sell my domain faster.Help!

The best way to make a sale is to have domains that somebody would want.
Most likely nobody is looking for your domains.

One thing you can do is sort your domains by number of 'views of offer page'. This is not the same as the number of visitors.

To do this, go to Domain Management => Change your view:
click on column header 'Offer Views' and sort descending
and change the date range too, for example the last 12 months.

Now you can see which domains may have caught the attention of possible buyers.
Some people may be interested in a domain name but intimated by the process, or refrain from making an offer because the pricing may be too high.
You can try to set a fixed price to coax interested parties into pulling the trigger.
Wait for a few weeks/months, then decrease the price a little bit.

Again, if nobody is visiting, exposure won't help much.
Good luck.

I have personally started selling more domains by going the fixed price route (and lowering my unreasonable expectations) on the various auction sites.

GD, Sedo, etc have all encouraged their users to set fixed prices for higher chances of sales.

However, with that said, sdsinc is correct in that, you won't make any sales if you don't have domains that people, namely endusers, want. In that case, you may not even be able to give them away.

Thanks for the tips.
How long(average time; i know it depends on the DN) does it usually take to recieve an offer after been listed.
You know at times i browse the weekly domain sales and i see some two unrelated words sell for x,xxx and keeps me wondering if it was really an enduser who bought it.
I'm grateful for the tips.

if you really are wondering if an end-user bought any particular domain, just track it for a while and see it gets developed into a viable website.

you'll see lots of post where folks claim to sell names to end-users, but unless a website is built around it....then how do you know.

could be just another domainer willing to pay more than the rest.

:)

The majority of domains will never sell.

Unless you pick the right domains, the odds are clearly stacked against the registrant.

And the majority of domains that never sell end up not renewed and thus on the expired lists that abound on namepros and other forums and blogs/sites.

The ones that sell take how long?

you would have to track a domain from first registration date and view the progression of whois changes of that particular name, to know that.

you would also have to know what date the owner first listed the domain on the venue where it sold

I can set a seed in an empty pot and hope that over time some dust and some moisture settle in the pot and the seed starts to sprout... Or I can just plant the seed in some dirt and water it regularly and have a nice plant going in no time.

Unless you have top of the line generic .coms and you aren't in any hurry to sell, don't just sit your domains on Sedo or any other site hoping that someone will come along with an offer. Go out and find people to email and take a proactive approach to selling. If you can't find anyone who may be interested in acquiring your domain, then it's probably trash. What's an even better approach is to research possible end users BEFORE even acquiring the domain. ;)

And some times, you see any domain which has no value, can be sold in x,xxx and higher, nothing can be said in domain name business.

You have to promote your domain yourself if you want to sell on Sedo..

Promotion of your domain name, Sedo feature listing, email marketing, forums etc..

Sedo also encourages these methods..
