Thread title is pretty self explanatory.

I'd be interested in knowing how much you guys have managed to make selling domain names. I'd also be interested in knowing what your own personal highest selling name was, and how much that went for.

Please don't exaggerate just to big yourself up, as it were. I'm genuinely interested in how much money can be made from doing stuff like this.

I've bought a few domain names myself, but have so far not tried selling any. I'm a total newbie to doing this, so would appreciate any advice, as well as the answers to these questions.

Should be interesting to hear what you have to say...

My biggest sale was for $200, i sold www.pokerstarsexchange.com just the domain. Since then only a few $20 sales, so id say $400 give or take.

~$12000 in sales
highest sale was $255

Advice:
- Assume that it will take you at least 3 years to sell a name. Don't buy names that you are not willing to pay renewal fees for.
- Unregistered names are generally considered more risky than dropping names.
- Keep asking questions and keep learning.
- Developing domains gives higher resale prices. (e.g. YouTube.com)
- Learn how to develope an exist strategy from domaining. It is a lot harder than it looks. If you need to sell your collection quick and don't know how to get a good price, it's not a good situation to be in.
