How much does site maturity impact SEO?

How much does site maturity impact SEO? Should I make an "under construction" page and register my site with search engines before it's up and running for SEO purposes?

I would rather put up a landing page even if just one page with some relevant content on it before it launches.

unless you think that you'll be developing the domain soon into a website, then i'd go with nick's suggestion of creating a one page site with relevant content. if you will be launching the site in about a month or so anyway, then i wouldn't bother with a landing page.

It does not matter.
Search engines are slow to pick and give high ranking position in search results (if ever reached by a site). So just develope your site, get TONS of backlinks and just then, you will start receiving traffic.

I think the age matters a small bit but content is still alot more important, becuase age just measures stability but not quality

If you read the Google webmaster tools, you will see that Google suggest you only submit a site after it is 100% complete.

I think you should not submit your site to any SE unless it is complete and up and running 100 % correctly.
