I just purchased a forum with 400 members, running on Invision. MY question would be, I'm sure there is a program out there which does the same SEO thing Namepros recently did, putting subjects into the web address. If you know of a good piece of software that does does, please let me know.

Also i'd like to hear any reviews of doing that to your sites. Did it help you in the search engines? How much did it help? Are there any cons to doing this to your site?

Thanks.

There is only one that I am aware of and it is a free program, you may be able to find it at Invisionize.com

It isn't as good as vBSEO and I should know as I have used them both. I'm currently a Pre-Release Team Member of vBSEO and to this date, I have not seen a single program/Nod/add on for any forum software that even comes close to doing what vBSEO does.

Thanks for the info. Do you think it's even worth installing onto the Invision board? Does it mess anything up?

Don't get me wrong, the version I used for Invision (when i had it) worked and worked good- it just doesn't compare to vBSEO. I've e-mailed Juan asking him to try and code an Invision version, but for now he and the team are working hard on getting vBSEO up and running with a good track record. I would say go for it, it won't harm your rankings, in fact it will help them.

It's a good program but it lacks a lot as well.

The last I remember is that the coder was getting it ready for version 2.1 (He/She may have it coded by now)

The invision one did have some problems if i remember correctly as it didnt always re write the URL which meant to bots found duplicate items which we all know google and co dont like which leads to PR drops or being booted from the SE tottally.

Not too sure about dc1pop's point but I can say for a fact that the author put in a 'cloaking' device that would basically add a bunch of hidden links back to his sites to boost theire linkpop. Totall dodgy but as he's put a discalimer in the code he feels he's ok. Make sure you do as I did and just remove the damn code.

Was stated on invisionize i beleave it was for the 2.0.x releases though. Where some users noticed a adverse effect of the hack and it made google have duped content as it was still finding the non seo'd pages.

I can't seem to find the mod your talking about on invisionize. Could you direct me to it?
