To simply survive in a city I would say only $7 a day. I mean sure it would be a homeless life but it is surviving.

Surviving in my part of the world takes less than $100 per week. In fact, $100 per week is probably more than what most of our programmers earn, and last I checked a lot of them are still quite healthy, even partying and going out on dates once in a while. :D

TO survive in most of the cities in india with the basic needs,except bombay and delhi: u need just
2 dollars per day for food,
10 - 15Dollars per year to buy 10 shirts and 10 pants
5dollar per year to buy cosmetics
20-50dollars per month for shelter
for a lower class and lower middle class family.

$3 a day x 7 = $21 a week for food (McDonald's Dollar menu - Breakfast Lunch AND Dinner!) As for drinks - some school has free water fountains

Sleeping - Buy a pillow + blanket, and pick a street

that's how i'd survive on bare minimum, but, probably wouldn't be like that for me :O heh, im accustomed to uh luxuries already :p
