What is the point of parking a domain, once one visitor finds out the site is not longer running, they will not visit again.

I have a few domains parked which used to be developed sites. The domains are not great, one is with a hyphen and some of the others are .org domains. It is more then two years since the sites closed but they are still getting unique hits everyday and generating monthly revenue.

I am actually currently getting my best parking income from a subdomain The subdomain was used for a developed site.
