I was wondering lately how many domainers there are worldwide? I’ve read something about an estimate of 180.000, but i don’t know if this includes professionals and amateurs?

If 180.000 internet users are domainers of the 1 billion this would mean 0,018% are domainers. Thats a very specializearea of interest or profession.

Do you have more information about this topic?

I would double that accounting for non-english speaking domainers and those not members here.

Sounds like a good estimate.

I'd hazard a guess that there are 250-500k worldwide. However, the number would also depend on what qualified the person as a domainer. Keep in mind that signups here might not necessarily be domainers, as I would not define someone who runs a website or creates a personal site as a domainer. Someone else might, though.

I suspect we don't have a lot of those though. DNF has 80k members. Even under the same logic of double that we hit near 200k imho. So less than 500k but more than 150k would be best guess imho.

Now the questions is how many of them are actually active. Also how many have more than 100 domains? I suspect it's less than 25k for that...maybe a lot les.
