I've been thinking about how long will the internet exist?

Could it be that in 2 years the internet will die out with a new invention? Or will it be around for the next 15 or more years?

Just makes you wonder with the unknown... if it's worth building a new site for months and 1 day you'll wake up and the internet will be gone.

Just a crazy thought. :o

I dont think it will die, it will only improve with new technologies (like really fast speed etc.)

Exactly. It will be improved for sure, but I don't see it dying out. People will always want to connect with others worldwide somehow, and the internet is pretty much the only way to do that.

The Internet will continue to exist for a long time, but it will advance and change in ways we cannot yet imagine.

The internet will continue to run forever as long as the tubes don't need replacing.

It'll all be over when they have to get the workmen in to replace 'em.

The internet has been around since the 60s, domains have been around since the 80s and the World-Wide Web (what most people call the internet) has been around since the early 90s. I think the World-Wide Web may be replaced with a new system eventually but the internet will stay for a very long time.

It will never die. It will just be accessible on more high tech gadgets.

The internet is a living entity with a very long life expectancy. Somehow I don't see it dying at all unless the human population is wiped out.

.....kind of reminds me of terminator. :]
