Even with email authentication, I still get people who do BIN from my landing pages and then just don't go any further. I don't remember how much time escrow.com holds the transaction for, but on Payoneer, it is 20 days.

To me, if someone does a BIN and doesn't contact me or send the money within a couple of days, they probably aren't coming back. Do you have a set amount of time that you'll hold a domain for before assuming that the buyer was bogus? There's no way that I'm going to hold a domain off the market for 20 days.

unknown buyers are always bogus, until they pay

if you think that way, you won't get disappointed

imo...

So, if you get an unknown buyer and they haven't paid after 2 days, then a new buyer comes in with money ready, there is no need to have held it for bogus buyer 1--is that the idea?

well, there's more to it than that

i don't use landers per se, so if someone clicks BIN at sedo or submits an offer to point of agreement and they don't pay, then of course there's a waiting period on that platform.

if a deal is made via email and you give buyer details where to send payment or ask them to initiate escrow transaction and they don't, and after a couple of days with no reply as to the delay, then you (i) move on.

you might send email asking what happened, but that depends on the situation, the name, how much was offered, etc,etc

imo....

Happened with me once, $4000 'sale', after buyer didn't pay, I did some research and found out that he's a student at a school....

In this case, it was a BIN from a landing page. I recently switched from Escrow.com to Payoneer. It appears that Payoneer doesn't even validate email addresses. I sent an email to the address listed and Yahoo bounced it back several times. I asked Payoneer and they confirmed that they don't validate email.

It seems crazy that they wouldn't even validate an email address before claiming that the buyer had 20 days to pay. Since the email is bad, I have no way of contacting the bogus buyer.
