I'm wondering what you all think is the appropriate wait time for leaving Itrader feedback after completing a succesful transaction on NamePros or any other B/S/T forum?

In the past, I usually leave it right after a succesful transaction is completed and have never had a problem with that until recently. I ended up leaving a positive Itrader for the person who scammed me on DP, I reported it but I'm not sure it it has been taken down yet or not.

So how long do you wait?

I usually leave it pretty quikly after the deal has taken place but I think I may start waiting 24 hours. Unless I have had previous transaction with that person.

I usually do it within 24 hours of receiving payment.

On DP, they're not gonna change or remove any iTraders once it's left as it states it in the rules. I believe you can edit the iTrader rating that you left within 24 hours of leaving it there.

I had someone give me a negative iTrader on DP just because I gave them one because they did not paying for a domain they bid & won & didn't respond to the 3 PMs I sent over a few days. Sent a message & started a thread about it, but was told nothing would be changed.

That's why Shawn (owner of DP) has 2 negative iTraders that 2 newbies left for him claiming that he scammed them, which is quite funny to see that the only 2 iTraders that he had are all negative!

I went to an Ebay seminar late last year and one of Australias most successful Ebay sellers showed her tips & tricks for success on Ebay. She discussed leaving feedback and as a seller she would only leave feedback after the transaction is completed and the buyer has posted their comments first. I also see this as the better way to give feedback as a seller for domains on forums.

For purchases - immediately I receive the domain. For sales - immediately I've pushed the domain (but I don't sell much and haven't had to deal with any scammers... yet).

The funny thing is I always forget to leave it ASAP (As Soon As Payment) and end up doing it 24/48 hrs later.

I've been fortunate to deal mostly w/ NPs well repped members. And never ripped on eBay ..... KNOCK ON WOOD!

I do the same thing myself. I don't consider a transaction closed until I have received feedback for the transaction and should feedback not be received within a couple days, I send out a follow up email thanking them for their business one again and asking them if there's anything else I can do for them, reminding them that it would be greatly appreciated if they would leave a positive iTrader rating at the successful conclusion of this transaction and that it will be reciprocated once they are completely satisfied (and have indicated such by leaving me a positive feedback).

Has never failed :)

Ok. So it's a waiting game to give feedback? So who goes first? The other person? Sounds like a Catch-22 to me. Both saying I'm not going to give you positive feedback until you give me positive feedback. C'mon guys. You know when you should be giving positive feedback or not.

I always give positive feedback when successfully completing a transaction. I am somewhat surprised that "some" members I have left positive feedback with have not bothered to do the same for me! IMO it is only proper that you should leave positive feedback after a successful deal. This is the only way to build your trader rating and let other members know what to expect when doing business with you.

Im with the majority of the people here, once the transaction has been completed (received or name has been received by other party) feedback is left. I think I have at least 8 or 9 outstanding feedbacks (people who didn't give me feedback) and if they just forgot? or want to wait a few months? .. I have no idea, but I am not their mother so I am not going to nag them to remind them to send me feedback, to much of a hassle.. :)

Has anyone had negative feedback selling on forums? this is where the problem is with ebay I think because if you sell something there and give positive feedback before the buyer does and they turn around & give you negitive for no reason then there is little you can do.

I always leave feedback at the earliest opportunity once the deal is complete. I will continue to do this as I will now only accept payment by Moneybookers or escrow from people I haven't traded with before.

Matt.
