I've had a lot of people DMing me about comments I've made regarding my python scripts or how I got GPT to find available domains in some of my posts, so I figured I'd share it here since I already replied it step by step with examples to someone
I have GPT actually find all of it's keyword/domain traffic/registry sources as well. For checking availability it's a bit more complex and you have to register and get the name.com API, but GoDaddy bulk search can help if you struggle with setting that up. Here are some prompts I've used:
Also, just to make sure you understand what the purpose of that specific prompt was, it was to find domains in other non .com TLDs that people are legit using for their business on the other tlds, but the .com version is still available. It signals that the .com version would potentially be a good asset to own if real websites are built on the other assets.
**These were all done using deep research mode on the paid chatgpt
The specific one you DMed about (found here):
"Perform a deep research analysis on all active domains receiving monthly traffic and backlinks that are in the extension of .ca .co.uk .es .eu .mx .ai .io .com.jn .com.au .com.ag .com.es or .de but do not have any traffic or seem to be registered in the .com extension. Report back a list of the top 10,000 minimum that you are able to find in an exportable format. Criteria for an active domain is 100 visits per month or 50 backlinks. Use all industries, I just want to find good domains that are in-use across the world but not in .com, primary goal is acquisition"
For most of these, Chatgpt will ask you more questions and there will be more prompts along the way, but just answer what you want it to do. Most of the time you'll end up with an exportable file that includes a custom built python script and instructions eg;
If you don't know how to use python, just ask gpt5 and it will work you through it, and you can ask it to break it down as simply as possible. Also, every now and then you will run into errors in GPTs scripts. When that happens, just open powershell and copy paste everything you see in the window and paste it to GPT and it will fix it until everything works correctly.
Here is one I did for brandable .ai:
"I want to create an all-encompassing list of words that are slightly misspelled or have common ending variations but can be used as good ai brands as well as unique names like hally iggy or helena. This includes things like lyft instead of lift, lazer instead of laser, lance becoming lancy, razor becoming rayzor or razr, logic becoming logix or tricks becoming trix, mimic or think becoming mimiq or thinq, replacing c's with k's like kloud or chrono becoming krono, common variation endings at the ends of words like -ly(buildly), -r (thinkr), or just y like blue becoming bluey, and other popular variants, then lastly shortening of words like fwrd for forward, mvmt for movement, or snkrs for sneakers. For each of these different types of variants I want you to create an exportable list of 10,000 .ai domains that use each of these different types of words. You can use existing .com's or popular examples, or find popular words that you can easily make these changes to, but if you notice that the .ai is already in-use do not add it to the reports / lists as the goal is to identify available names for registration. No domain can be longer than 8 characters and they must all be phonetic or make sense on how you got to the word."
One for industry .coms:
"Research all branding principles and best practices and generate a total of 140,000 unique .com domain names that would work well for branding , are not between 6-15 characters, no more than 2 words, and are not known to already be registered or in use by existing brands in the following industries:10,000 .com domain names for Finance and Fintech10,000 .com domain names for Education and Ed-tech10,000 .com domain names for Healthcare and healthtech 10,000 .com domains for creative and design agencies10,000 .com domains for marketing agencies10,000 .com domains for restaurants10,000 .com domains for green and eco industry10,000 .com domains for AI software companies10,000 .com for AI products 10,000 .com domains for blockchain and web3 10,000 .com domains for retail stores10,000 .com domains for construction 10,000 .com domains for home services 10,000 .com domains that are creative but don't define an industry (ie, tipsyturtle.com, vividsphere.com, novabright.com)"
