How does Google calculate inbound links?

Hi,

Let's say I have two websites:

Website A
Website B

On website A there are two pages:

page1.php
page2.php

And on these pages there is a link to Website B. I want to ask if Google will consider both these links as inbound link for Website B or only one and ignore other because they are from same domain?

I mean if a website has 10 pages pointing to same thing, will Google take into account all or only one of them?

Thanks

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

If you do a lot of forum posting and also use google webmaster account then you will get the answer to this.

You can check in your google webmaster account that all the pages which are linking to your site are counted in it as inbound links towards your site.

Now after that what they do with that data, only google can tell.

i think google will take all of them into account, but obviously some links will be more important than others, and a bunch of spam links can hurt your site more than help it.

best way to check google backlinks is using google webmaster tools as nick suggested.

If you have 2 links to site B, then google will count 2 back links.

I have perhaps a related question here - about namepros signature links tho.

I see if you change your namepros signature links, it changes the links in all your previous comments.

Is that problematic for SEO? I mean, if you drop a site from your sig (and hence lose 100 links), could it really hurt your rankings? And, on a more subtle note, changing the term you use to link to a site (as it simultaneously occurs 100 times) could look really suspicious?

search engines should be able to tell where a link is coming from and weigh them accordingly. i wouldn't worry too much about it.

Google check if the links are relevant and quality links.....

Google usually don't display links in respect to competitors...

My friend please use exact words. Sometimes words are misleading the conversation and people understand it all wrong.

This is the 2nd post where you are misleading.

Sorry my apology. :D

I know that Google counts backllinks whether they are relevant links or not...

In terms of SERPs, Google calculates quality inbound links and give more credit to it...
