How do you organize your domain names?

If you buy domain names at Snapnames or other auction services, or even from many different private sellers, then you've probably got accounts at many different registrars.

For those of you with hundreds or thousands of domain names scattered across a few dozen registrars, how do you keep track of them all? Isn't it incredibly time consuming to keep track of your login info at all the different registrars in order to change nameservers, park the domains, manage renewals or forwarding, etc? Furthermore many of these registrars are expensive, so no doubt you consolidate some of your domains at cheaper services, right?

What tools or methods do you use to keep track of all this?

Personally I just use an Excel spreadsheet, but I find that I spend a few hours every day just working on everything I mentioned above. There's got to be a more efficient method!

Excel.
Comes up a parked page for me
-RJ-'s if I'm not mistaken...

It shows software for sale $25 dollars or something? At least for me, not sure if it's a parked page but doesn't look like any I've seen.

I am near to ppublish a wide beta of domaintherapy(dot)com, but running in access. Actualize the data itself and no manual yet.

If u want, can check a little slow version now running in sql server in a internet database.

Someone interested ? My plan is make it free for 200 or less domains.

Sounds like Excel is pretty much the meat and potatoes of organization for most. westblock has it down to a real science. Thanks for those tips.

Interesting thread... I have a full custom made system that integrates with my desktop and uses a CMS management system I built so I can edit each domain in my browser or just open the database directly for bulk actions. My home page on my browser is a list of all my domains (over 700 & most are websites), this runs on an access database and I run the page as asp on my local system which works even if not online. the database has many tables and fileds, like a table for registers ( i only use around 4-5), the fields in the main domain table include things like DomainName, Register, ExpDate, DateUpdated, Todo, NameServers, Statslink, Parked (yes/no), SiteType, Category, GoogleIndexed and over 100 more fields .... this is continually been improved and optimized and not that hard to do.

I always transfer mine to Tucows or Godaddy if it's an extension not supported by the former.

Just to ressurect an old page.

I would like to point you in the direction of www.domaindairy.com
It is an automated portfolio management system. Simply add your domain names, and WE do the work for you. We will grab the whois information of your domain names, and organize them in a friendly way.

A 3 tiered search allows you to search through large lists of domain names, as well as the ability to order you domains by various operators.

Importantly it is simple to use. A 3 year old could use it, and it is ever expanding.

For those of you interested in SEO It will also grab google results, backlinks, PR, meta data etc.

Finally you can make your portfolio public so that other can view your portfolio through a link. Why not redirect one of your domains to your portfolio page, and you have a portfolio on the web for all to see. What do you have to do? Essentially Nothing.

For more information check out http://www.namepros.com/domain-name...v2-0-online-domain.html?highlight=domaindairy. Please do post your opinions and suggestions. Lets make this a incredible tool for domainers.
