When you have no sales or even offers at all - this might be the time for you to change your domaining strategy and re-evaluate your entire portoflio.

Also, looking at the similar sales on NameBio could also help with motivation. :)

When you see MWD sell domains for five figures you wouldn't pay reg fee for, one can say WT-?*!

This, plus a healthy dose of patience, without which you will achieve nothing in this industry.

Not what you should do, but what you should NOT do
i) Looking at all the sales and try to register similar names
ii) Think that it is a lottery, let me get some tickets - one may be a winner
iii) Drop all the existing names

as @sdsinc said, this what you should do
i) Learn to be patient
ii) Think of a good strategy
and I will add to that
- Make a plan, how many you are going to hold, 'budget' your portfolio - so that you do not run into negative (1/2 years negative is ok, but if it continues, then you need to relook at your strategy)

@rainapple123 -

Good question. Chasing "big game" can be tiring, so I try to establish smaller weekly goals and "systematize" my weekly tasks. By making each step a process itself and establish goals for each, it helps me to be self-motivated by succeeding at self-established metrics.

For example:

1) The past 3 months, I set a goal to hit 100+ accepts to BrandBucket. To accomplish this goal, I submit 20-30 new names each weekend knowing that my trend is having 25%-40% accepted with each batch.

2) To keep my mind fresh (and energized)... I find at least (1) new thread each week on NamePros, research the topic, and try to post something I hope is of value to others with data to support what I have learned. Sharing with others and learning from others (during the slow times) keeps your mind fresh and energized during the slow days.

Setting specific weekly goals is my way of maintaining motivation... the sales become a boost and metric to track, not a daily fixation.
