How do you find good expiring names?

I've seen around that people post lists and notices, but how do THEY find those names? I'd really like to become independant. What are the methods? How do you access expiring name lists, and how do you sort through so many? I really don't want to rely on posts in the available or expiring name section

Also maybe if I can find some on my own I'll face less competition for them?

Sedo need to clean up their security as there are many complaints about their verification sytem. It really is a joke I agree with the op.

There are many such sites but these sites are the best IMO.
