I have been developing a tool to find available names and I was wondering how you all find your names? Do you rely on creativity or do you have an automated system?

I don't use any automated system. They way I search for names varies day by day according to what I am looking for.

Some times I used them... they help in brain storming :)

My daily process does involve automated tools but only to speed up certain processes during my workflow. A good example is removing all the nonsensical domains from lists e.g. numerical,dashes,non-english or foreign language words etc. The odd thing is no matter how much you automate the process it really still boils down to being able to spot a diamond in the rough before it gets cut and polished.

I just read a ridiculous amount of news, blogs etc early every morning and sit there guessing at what could still be avail (after checking TM's). Surprisingly this has worked well for me. I always focus on up and coming tech or changes in the world,

Mostly copy+pasting+concatenating stuff I am looking for for that day in spreadsheets and using godaddys bulk reg tool.

I mostly use brain storming. Then I sometimes will find a tool to give me more suggestions. I keep all my possible domain names in an spreadsheet then once I'm happy with my list I check them to see what's available.
