How do you find good expiring names?

I've seen around that people post lists and notices, but how do THEY find those names? I'd really like to become independant. What are the methods? How do you access expiring name lists, and how do you sort through so many? I really don't want to rely on posts in the available or expiring name section -_-

Also maybe if I can find some on my own I'll face less competition for them?

Thanks!

Competition is everywhere. If you got $60 bills and up to spend go to SnapNames dot com and they got some nice name there. Also, read different threads here and everywhere to get an idea of what people are going for. It takes time to get use to and its not an immediate revenue. Don't quit your day job yet. Cheers.

but how do you find the names on your own? If they're featured on snapnames I'd assume they'd go for much more than the 60 dollar buy in

I don't have really good way. Just go through the daily drop list (30-40K domains list) by myself and try to find some good ones.

It is a very tired job :(

DropList 1

Drop List 2

The second one was reliable for some time, but it seems the lists aren't updated. REPS appreciated if you think this has helped you.

There are many paid memberships sites which offer such lists also.

Sometimes if you don't know the exact name of the domain and if you use the general search method ( for example, all 3 letter domain ), the domain name is not shown in the drop list, but if you type in the search field the exact name the domain appears in the drop list. Maybe it has been only a isolated case.

finding the expiring domain lists is easy just google around, but it will take you forever to analyze it, unless you get an automatic software to do it for you.

domain research tools does the trick for me, but there must be other software that are free around too.
i think i read 2 months ago one thread that talked about some free softwares and sites to analyze domains in bulk. just take a look in the forum.
