How do suggested words work in Search Engines?

How does the suggestion words work in search engines?

for example, in MSN, if you type in word(s), it gives you suggested words. How does that work? Or, get listed in there?

I think we have no control over that feature. Search engines have record of words that are searched regularly: so they include them in this feature.

That is quite interesting. Popular engines list almost the same sites as suggested terms.
