How do I add private registration for *only* 1 year with GoDaddy?

I have a domain with GoDaddy that doesn't expire until 2015, and when I go through the process of adding private registration it wants to set it to ~7 years and charge me over $50. There's no option to change this from what I can see on the checkout or upgrade page.

Is it possible to change the length?

They got back to me.. looks like you can't; it's automatically set to the length of your domain registration.
