How did you make some of your best sales?

I know we buy, sell and trade lower priced domain names all day long on forums and sites like Afternic Bazaar, but how did you make some of your best sales? Trying to get a feel for how people are selling some of the higher priced names and this would be interesting even for veterans to see. Are most of your higher end sales from:

- People visiting the website itself and inquiring?
- Sites such as Sedo and Afternic?
- Marketing to end users directly?
- Forums?
- Ebay and other auction services?
- Something else?

Made most sales (low-mid $x,xxx) with those two options.

Have tried to contact possible end-users a few times, but no luck with that at all (yet)...

a little bit of all of those, I would rank my sales in this order...

1)Marketing to end users directly through email, forums, personal contacts
2)People visiting the website itself and inquiring
3)Sedo
4)Domainer Forums
5)Ebay, limited use with this one, the few times I used it it did work for what I had to sell, lower range names.

Same with me.....i too contacted some potential buyers directly....but no success.
Could hav been my approaching skills were not professional.
Hav to try a diff approach!!

my best sale was on ebay, i get crap offers on namepros, no offers on sedo, and occasionally one of those crap emails from someone interested. I have had limited success marketing directly to endusers

yea, sedo do the job.

but i yet to try ebay. i just don't know whether to use my CC to advertise on ebay. cos they are always charging you here and there. arggg.
