How come all the best nGTLDs haven't been released yet? What's the hold up?

In my opinion we've got some of the worse ones taking off due to marketing and $1 costs like xyz and top.

My personal favorites are still .Club and .Work.

I understand that the most anticipated one .Web is still under dispute.

.One isn't bad even though it doesn't pass the "radio test."

But this thread is about why haven't the best ones been released yet and what's the freaking hold up?
Where's .Blog .Now .App etc.etc. Waiting waiting patiently to pre-register.

I guess they are realising that the only market is predominately domainers and that they are running out of cash due to lack of aftermarket sales and seeking alternative markets, China based for instance.

Add to that that the majority of recent releases have generally bombed perhaps?
