Emailed an owner of a 3 letter .com (as it appeared to me from the whois that he was probably unaware of his names pending deletion) informing him of such and saying that if he needed help managing / selling his domain Id be more than glad to help. Offering in addition to my help $500 if he wanted to sell it. Cough, I know, i know.... Generous to a fault...

Anyway, I hear nothing back and the name deletes.

Go to work on my home computer one day (being that I had inadvertantly left my laptop at work) and BANG, he had replied to my email, agreeing to the sale and asked what he had to do to transfer it to me.....

Transpires that my wife inadvertantly opened outlook one day in order to send a message to her friend and obviously it grabbed all my pop3 messages that were sitting on the server at that time.......

AAAAAAaaaaarggggggghhh...

Another beer required I fancy.

Please, someone, tell me a story where you were worse off than that... This name i lost actually coincided with a huge conglomerate that I just know would have gobbled it up from me......

What a shame. And I can't believe the guy didn't renew it even after receiving a $500 offer.

Oh well. Still 17,575 other three letter domains out there. I'm sure there's a few more that would be more than happy getting a $500 offer for their name.

That Sucks!

I'd make sure to delete all the email accounts on the desk top NOW!

I got my laptop and my wife has the Desk Top - NEVER shall the two meet! :p

you better set your wife's outlook to leave a copy in the server for 15 days or even 1 month. just to make sure the same situtation won't happen again.
