Will schools abandon their .EDU in place of .COLLEGE ?? And besides, this extension will rule out the Universities. I can't seem to figure out what the target customers for the extension would be.
With .XYZ, just like my issue with the othe upcoming gTLDs, you could get quickly into trouble with business owners who are running the identical domain on the .COM extension.
This may only be an advantage for those .COM domains being held by domainers and not being used. So instead of buying out the .COM domainer for boatloads of money, presumably you can buy the same domain on the .XYZ extension at a cheaper price.
But ALAS..... all great domains in .XYZ have already been gobbled up by domainers as well. After all, it is an UNRESTRICTED extension. lol That means, you can SQUAT on it. The registry owner is a Domainer himself.
As has been said in the past, these new gTLD registries are only after the money. They don't care about internet pollution.
Maybe if all .XYZ domains have dried out, we can launch a new .WXY and make more money???
