One of my sites is hosted with Hostgator. Support team at Hostgator is very responsive.
i wanna buy a proxy site webhosting.
Hostgator allow proxy site?
Out of curiosity, does anyone know of other hosting companies that sell multiple domain shared hosting with fantastico for a low price as hostgator? I have yet to find one that offers it for a low price that also has as good of a reputation as hostgator.
What is the difference between Linux Hosting & Windows Hosting. Can somebody enlighten me. Thanks in advance.
I personally have never used Hostgator. But I have heard that it is a great host for most sites. Due to overselling, it isnt reccomended for proxies and huge content sites
I was actually just about to sign up with them. This just confirms that this is the right host for me. Thanks for the feedback.
Windows servers support native ASP and Microsoft Access db, so if you have a site written in ASP is better to go with Windows server. In the other hand if you want to use WP, Joomla or Drupal the best choice is Linux Server imho.
I use 2 Different Webhosts for my 200+ SITES
HOSTGATOR provides me with the best overall package at reasonable price.
Can I use the 1 cent for the first month coupon for hostgator, and when the second month renewal comes up, depending if I like it or not, lock in a 2 year long term, and get 20% off at that time? or can you just use one coupon one time only?
No proxy sites. I use them for many other websites and have been very satisfied
im administering a server hosted at hostgator and i know they have one of the fastest server around.
I have 5 sites with them and very happy on 1 account. you got to love the Delxe "somthing features" I forget the name but its at the bottom of the CP, Really neat and easy. One example is xoc.mobi
Its great they have alot of plug ins, wordpress and many more...
HostGator is a superb web hosting company. I recommend it to a lot of people. There customer support is excellent and super fast.
I also use Hostgator
it is great...
Hostgator has been good for me so far. I have had to go into livechat for support or submit a ticket several times (I just submitted one involving addon redirects), but the support is overall good. It was a bit slow today, but they seem to be undergoing major changes to the support system.
Unfortunately, I have had a couple of instances where "I dunno man, just hack a .htaccess file" or "that is already enabled on the server - thanks for your ticket (we're not going to look into your problem, though)" happened, but nothing too bad so far. The ticket I just submitted will determine whether I stay with them, though, ironically enough.
I recommend hostgator as a cheap, fast, mostly reliable host. Make sure you use the $0.01 promo code for your first month in case you run into any issues, though.
I think HostGator is great, both in terms of service and what they offer in their package. In my experience, they have excellent pre- and post-sales customer service. They always get back right away. The only thing I can think of which could be improved is their online knowlegebase. There's not a lot in it, which is a shame since I end up having to contact them personally.
I use hostgator. I did a lot of research before I chose a host and Hostgator seemed like the best choice, by far. I have been using them for a while and absolutely love their service. They're an excellent host.
yilduz, how long have you been using them?
Does anyone actually use HostGator to capacity of their package? Please list your package and how much you have used before. I know that they oversell like no other, but I'm curious to see if anyone actually utilizes their account to the full potential.
Incremental Acronis True Image backup would be nice to store on there.
HostGator has been in the industry for awhile now. Maybe not as long as the others but the guy who started it really had his stuff together. Ive seen mixed reviews for Hostgator but if a company that large can make 50% of the clients happy they are pretty good in my opinion.
Hostgator is superb. They provide excellent customer service - one of the key elements to be a good webhosting provider.
Guys, the whole posting a comment about a hosting provider so I can show my signature is getting old fast. Please stop.
My Thoughts... and anyone using Hostgator please provide your comments if you have faced similar problems.
I have been with hostgator for over a year - never had any trouble untill last week when I received an email from them stating I was over my limit of inodes and I needed to delete a lot of files or risk having my account suspended.
I use the $9.97 package - 'Unlimited domains / websites etc etc....'
I had about 20 websites up and they tell me I have too many inodes/files - Ridiculous
With the new TOS - you are only allowed to have 50,000 inodes - which may be just enough for 3-4 sites max.... unless you have one page websites
I just has a chat with some of the other hosting companies and the have limits of 400,000 - sound a lot better to me - and fair.... Oh and the same price - if not cheaper
I got the same warning followed by this. I think everything will be ok.
"We want to assure you that your account is in good standing and will remain active even though you have received the inode usage warning. The email that you have received can be disregarded as we are actively reviewing the inode limits per account."
Thats good to hear WGS_Thunder,
I never received the second email... so I had a quick chat with them now and the mentioned the same thing
I guess I can stop looking for another host for now
Surprisingly - I found some good host that don't have an inodes limit, and some with a limit of 400,000
lets hope Hostgator does us good...
