I don't know if anyone else is with them, but they are - by far - the best webhost that I have used.

I highly recommend them to anyone thinking of hosting a site any size.
Since I have been with hostgator I have had NO DOWNTIME whatsoever (since the start of the year) and it looks like that's not going to change.

They give you a LOT of space and bandwidth too, so you don't need to worry about conserving space at all.

Hi Bobba,
I think HostGator is great, both in terms of service and what they offer in their package. In my experience, they have excellent pre- and post-sales customer service. They always get back right away. The only thing I can think of which could be improved is their online knowlegebase. There's not a lot in it, which is a shame since I end up having to contact them personally.

I use hostgator. I did a lot of research before I chose a host and Hostgator seemed like the best choice, by far. I have been using them for a while and absolutely love their service. They're an excellent host.

Does anyone actually use HostGator to capacity of their package? Please list your package and how much you have used before. I know that they oversell like no other, but I'm curious to see if anyone actually utilizes their account to the full potential.

Incremental Acronis True Image backup would be nice to store on there. :)

HostGator has been in the industry for awhile now. Maybe not as long as the others but the guy who started it really had his stuff together. Ive seen mixed reviews for Hostgator but if a company that large can make 50% of the clients happy they are pretty good in my opinion.

Hostgator is superb. They provide excellent customer service - one of the key elements to be a good webhosting provider.

Guys, the whole posting a comment about a hosting provider so I can show my signature is getting old fast. Please stop.

Thanks!

My Thoughts... and anyone using Hostgator please provide your comments if you have faced similar problems.

I have been with hostgator for over a year - never had any trouble untill last week when I received an email from them stating I was over my limit of inodes and I needed to delete a lot of files or risk having my account suspended.

I use the $9.97 package - 'Unlimited domains / websites etc etc....'
I had about 20 websites up and they tell me I have too many inodes/files - Ridiculous

With the new TOS - you are only allowed to have 50,000 inodes - which may be just enough for 3-4 sites max.... unless you have one page websites

I just has a chat with some of the other hosting companies and the have limits of 400,000 - sound a lot better to me - and fair.... Oh and the same price - if not cheaper

I got the same warning followed by this. I think everything will be ok.

"We want to assure you that your account is in good standing and will remain active even though you have received the inode usage warning. The email that you have received can be disregarded as we are actively reviewing the inode limits per account."

Thats good to hear WGS_Thunder,
I never received the second email... so I had a quick chat with them now and the mentioned the same thing
I guess I can stop looking for another host for now :)

Surprisingly - I found some good host that don't have an inodes limit, and some with a limit of 400,000

lets hope Hostgator does us good...
