I am waiting for the Build by MSFT in April when the HoloLens will pop up in the news and tweets again, however, in the meantime, I would like to hear your opinion on the value of my domain Hololenser.com.

Should I wait or should I aim for smaller price as soon as possible, because of the possible copyright issues from MSFT? What about AppleInsider, 9to5mac, thisisxbox, xboxoneforums and similar websites that contain the product or company name in their domain name?

In my opinion, the best/most preferred option would be to sell it to somebody who would start some magazine/news/blog/forum about Hololens or something like that as soon as the HoloLens is on the market, so it will become a leading source for HoloLens news etc.

But I am not sure and therefore I am asking you for your opinion. Should I sell as soon as possible via GoDaddy or Sedo auction or rather wait longer (months or even years)?

And of course, I would appreciate your opinion on how much dollars is this domain worth.

Holo-Lens is a trademark (not Microsoft), drop the name unless you plan on using it for something other than Holo/Holographic/Holograms which I doubt is the case as the name was registered a few days after Microsoft launched Hololens

My advice is to stay away from trademark names

Since Microsoft are now adopting the term hololens, does that mean they are planning to buy the TM or what's going on there?

I have no idea what they are doing?

Yeah, but as far as I know Google allows the usage of the word Android in the websites, so, how could you know that Microsft would not go that open-minded way too?

Check this out:
http://developer.android.com/distribute/tools/promote/brand.html

People are using the word Android in the domain name e.g.:
androidcentral.com
androidapp.com
androidauthority.com
phandroid.com
androidforums.com

Btw. it could also be HoloLensER (Emergency; also a valuable catch, especially for people who are affraid of real doctors, remote areas, etc.) which is a general term, however, what about phANDROID, which is extremely similar to HOLOLENSer. As far as I know phandroid is alive.

So, I think it will depend on Microsoft's policy and I hope it will be like Google's.

But we will see. I think it's worth to take the risk.

What about the pricing guys? Could you tackle this part of my question too?

Given trademark concerns - I would advice a wait and watch. Personally, given trademark concerns around reg fee. Other than Holo Lens other trademark concern for me is the word Lenser. I think even that is a trademark term

You cannot play scrabble like that. You can capitalize it and it's a complete new meaning or put small dot after each lettter, etc. One example for all: "len ser" means in Slovak = just shit (do shit). So, in the worst case scenario, I can make a Slovak website with fans of holo fecal porn or something ;D.

@HoloNames Just about everyone on this forum would advice you to (grace) delete this name. Yet you're trying to rationalize your way around obvious TM concerns. Just get rid off it. Of course, entirely your call.

@nomen I asked Microsoft via Twitter https://twitter.com/holonames/status/562190118371733504 already. If you really want to help find a definite answer, retweet my tweet, please. I will also send them an email later today and will be more specific and detailed than in my tweet. I will post the answer here. It could take more time to get their response. It could be something vague or it could be something else. We will see ;).

My message with the twitter link with MSFT question is not showing for some reason. Could a moderator take a look at it, please? Thanks.

Just because are out there using Android, doesn't mean its allowed or they have requested permission to use their trademark...I can assure you most of them havent

There are 100's of Toyota, Ford,Olympic, Apple, IBM, HP, etc developed sites as well, it doesn't make it right, its what gets us domainers the "squatter" label

If you get permission from them and they're ok with it,then that's a totally different story

Then you cant exactly sell the name so you will have to find other ways to monetize the name
