Hello guys.

I am new here.
I want to know. Is it ok to hide your domain information on whois ? So your personal info won't be available when someone whois your domain ?

Thank you. :)

Yes, what do you want to hide from the world?

Telling people you are in USA when you are actually in another country?
I have seen that one many times from sellers of domains.

Bottom line, if you want to hide your whois, go to your registrar to do so.
Probably cost you some bucks.

Your whois data is not important for parking companies, thing that is important for them is the quality of the traffic that you provide.

whois may be used by parking services to verify ownership, especially when another user previously owned the domain and parked at same service.

imo....

Yes, it is ok.

I have tried parking at Sedo, Namedrive, and even Godaddy parking. They don't care if your domain has whois privacy enabled.

With Sedo, if they can't verify your domain ownership because you have whois privacy enabled, sending them a screenshot of your registrar portfolio where your domain is regged, usually is enough proof for them. Been there, done that, countless times.

Since this is a PARKING PAGE, nobody in his right mind will check your whois info before clicking your parking advertisement links.

And besides, most people who click links on a parked page, are clueless web surfers.

It is completely to the wish of the individual to go in for a public or private registration. People who do not want their personal information like contact details, e-mail information to be displayed to the public will prefer for a private registration. This is to avoid spammers from accessing the personal information to annoy the domain owner with unwanted emails, calls etc. Whoever does a whois search by using lookup tools like WhoisXY.com will be able to view only a third party(mostly the host provider) details hence even if they have to contact the domain owner they will be filtered by the third party. This is just to protect the domain owner...if you think you can handle such unwanted advertisements, scams, spamming you can very well opt for a public registration. As far as I know there are no disadvantages in availing a private domain registration.
