Hi, I am Saurabh Jain from India. I am very new to domaining industry. I started buying domain names only a month back. Now, I understand if a particular domain name is worth something from an end-user's point of view and what kind of domains webmasters are looking for. However, I am keen to learn more on valuating these virtual assets and the best selling strategies to be adopted. I have purchased 8 domains till now. The reasonably good ROI prompted me to invest in these assets.

It will be my pleasure if I can be of any help to the fellow members. Please feel free to contact me.

Let's join hands in our endeavors to learn, earn and prosper.

Thanks and regards,

Saurabh Jain

Thanks DomainiaXYZ for a valuable information. I just went through dnjournal.com and found that LRZ.com was sold for $ 46000/-. Though this letter combination doesn't mean anything. Is it that 4L and 3L .com domains are highly valuable even if the names doesn't make an sense? I have seen a recent trend of numeric domain names selling at astonishing prices. There too, I couldn't understand the business sense behind acquiring these domain names with little sense. are these brandable somehow or what? I am owning typesofcakes.com. What is your point of view on this domain?

Welcome to forum. Saurabh - regarding the names, 'as a starter' I would not go by 'what is hot' - there are hundreds and thousands doing it. You have to find what is unique about you. Regarding the name you asked, you have to ask yourself these questions

- how much you would pay for this name?
- what you would do with this name, would you be able to run a business out of this name (alone) and make a profit?

Think of a name not as a name, but as a 'business' and you will see the viability.

Hope it helps.

Thanks NameFit for a great information. And I guess taking google searches for a keyword into a consideration will also help.

To my best of knowledge all goods 'in' have been taken. Still there are some left, which you can hold. 'In' domain market is not that competitive like Chinese but surely growing. It has a huge potential. Personally, I don't invest on 'in' domains.
