Hi there I accedently got into the world of buying and selling domains, with failed Business's etc. I recently sold a domain to a client who approached me for £500.00 (my first sale with out even trying to sell one) I was shocked and amazed it was real, anyway I believe that was a bit of luck I recently purchased a domain called fishbait.info I am worried about paying the listing fee on Flippa as money is very tight at the moment, does anybody think it would sell on there? just need enough to cover my costs, or what is my best option its just merely a domain no website etc, recently registered it also are there still domains to be had out there to register that people will pay money for? or have they almost dried up?

any help would be greatly appreciated

All the Best

.info's in general are hard sells

you have to have a premier name to expect a nice roi

recently hand-regged .info's have even less of a chance

imo...

OK sure thanks for your advice, when buying a deleted domain what's the best thing to check for? page rank? or just if the domain is short looks cool and gut instinct etc. does page rank mean anything? I saw one earlier with 7 that was available

many thanks

You will lose the PR for a domain with the next PR update. So you need to flip them reasonably fast. I think you latter method of valuing a domain is better than using the PR, which is temporary. Oh, and I'd stick with .com's

A word of advice, if money is tight... wait until it isn't. Don't get sucked into the world of domaining where you can spend hours and a lot of money on mistakes. Trust me, spend within your means and spend, ONLY when it is right.

:) Good Luck with your endeavours

sure thanks for the advice :) for the time being I am going to see if i can build up a portfolio and earn a little extra cash, buying deleted domains at the normal reg price, and selling them on for small profits,

Your domain age is 2 days only. I think you will loss your listing fees on flippa! Domain business is the high role/huge profitable business and it can make you millionaire but you need to learn first then start domain business :(

Hi thanks for your advice, I am going to continue to learn, I already run my own profitable buisiness, and a wiz with computers so this shouldn't be too difficult, as a little hobby I am going to absorb all the info I can get my hands on from this very helpful forum, google and books etc and will keep you all posted on my journey,

Kindest regards

Andy

I agree. A blog about his journey would be a great idea. :)

Hi all, its been a while when I last Posted, I agree I may write a blog about it :) I have been having a bit of Success Selling (As I am based in the UK .co.uk s) and .coms on eBay, mainly the .co.uks though! I have also created a website called Domain Change, with the various websites i am selling listed on there, I have also been sending out emails to various business's making them aware I am selling particular Domains, A question I had was what's the best thing to do with the domain while its in the process of being up for sale? I am parking them but I do not see any point in this as the views they get are minimal and I am concentrating on selling domains that have dropped and spending as little as possible on catchy brand able names etc, I was thinking about perhaps uploading a 1 page site to them with content etc. and getting them indexed in Google and selling as a site/domain? if I did this does anyone know any free hosting for a 1 page easy to create website? as always any ideas / advice would be greatly appreciated :)

Best Regards

Andy
