Ever heard of that show Gilligan's Island?

A cast of characters are stranded on an Island from a boatwreck.. and trying to survive.. enjoying.. with goal to get off of the Island..

But what happens when they finally get off the Island and are discovered by the world? The show ends.. and the relationships fall apart.. it's over.. some make, it some fall..

Notice how Gilligan's Island is like us with Dot Mobi?

Dot Mobi is mostly undiscovered so far.. and we have been blessed with this insight already..

Now, with the strong backers and B2B moves I am seeing, everyone is gearing up for the max effect.. (I think most us agree that Dot Mobi will only get better than its current situation)

So you can't wait for that RFP? Well, are all your sites up and max ready? Why not?

Don't know how to develop? Wordpress is easy.. people can help.. imagine having a Wordpress or SMF on every Dot Mobi domain registration (who knows what will hit) or just this concept of maxing every reg.. today.. for a sudden tomorrow..

Playing the present.. we may have the time.. to do things together that no one person here can even imagine by themselves..

(In the mid 90's I failed to join with others/the community, and witnessed those young Dot Com millionaires grow past what I was doing by myself)

..alot of my own hunger has arrived from seeing hungry people, literally.. but I need more drive from "seeing" such truths that drive me to appreciate this opportunity I have now on Earth..

We have time, yes, it' early; and, no one hardly knows about DotMobi except domainers and the rich and powerful corporations..

All eyes on us, then..

So what can we do? We have to keep tallking further and consider opportunities more with each other.. some of us may see the other person as competition.. but we should be seeing those corporations who will jump the bandwagon later and copy us in our genre with deep pockets (and RFP names) as the competition (there are many great Dot Com domain names that are still not exercised to their full potential.. but "odd domain names" even, already dominate their genre)..

I hope we see each other more here, now, as teammates..

Yelo, Regarding .mobi. I really don't see .mobi as some historic event that will shake the world. I see .mobi as a great possible domain for the mobile web. I see the mobile web becoming huge and mobi being adapted into it.

But, I don't think this is some huge thing that all people are looking on. I see my mobi domains as an investment and I'm also developing my names to make my investment pay off.

Do you know something we don't? Is .mobi (cybernet) going to go online in a few years and take control of every machine in the planet?

Implications on humanity

Historic? Well that depends on how one looks at it.. for each of us, there is certainly a life changing potential here.. I remember in 1994 when I first used email and chatted on effnet.. that was part of history, a history yet to be documented thoroughly.. look how the Internet has changed us in the past 13 years.. it literally brings the world together.. everyone looks at the disasters in the world.. but how much destruction to human life has been averted by minds understanding and coming closer worldwide through the Internet?

Historic was mostly meant for us group of Dot Mobi domainers who are believers at the grassroots level in the beginning.. Do you realize that we grabbed most of the non reserved generics? That's humongous.. what if we look back 20 years and document the mobile internet revolution history through Dot Mobi? Put a NP logo on there!

Even Microsoft Windows was historic in that it unified the PC movement on one platform.. so games/software etc. could be developed and distributed worldwide faster.. I believe Dot Mobi's standard of ensuring that content can be viewed on all mobile phones from low end (which exist mostly today worldwide) to high end can be as important as what Microsoft did and beyond..

I think we all agree that the mobile internet revolution we are witnessing is historic.. the world will come together, first, through the mobile phone internet.. people are already recognizing that this whole mobile ONE Internet revolution has vast implications for the people on the planet.. What I am trying to suggest is that the Dot Mobi movement is more than our own personal ventures - but has the potential to affect any person from top to bottom..

At the Top - Lots of the most powerful people may be shaking hands with the Dot Mobi gang some time.. above and below the table -dotMobi is backed by leading mobile operators, network and device manufacturers, and Internet content providers, including Ericsson, GSM Association, Hutchison 3, Microsoft, Nokia, Orascom Telecom, Samsung Electronics, Syniverse, T-Mobile, Telefonica Moviles, TIM, Vodafone and Visa. dotMobi is also a sponsor of W3C's Mobile Web Initiative. Dot Mobi has offices in China.. trying to flip there.. now CEO of Dot Mobi joins the Chair for Europe and MIDDLE EAST and AFRICA mobile marketing association - these are no small moves to behold..

What the nuts and bolts going on in personal phone calls at the top of the pyramid I'd like to know; but, I can see the trends and see the groundwork already being laid for the global corporate Dream Team.. and I can only fathom that whatever activity is taking place.. will only increase as the New World Order flipping sees that this channel, DotMobi, is the gang to befriend..

At the bottom - Having worked with NGOs (world humanitarian organizations) I can't say enough about how the Internet has and can literally save lives.. playing the word association game, we look at .com and credit the PC internet for .com humanitarian sites' work.. Now, with the mobile phone internet revolution.. is there any real impending, stronger backed, alternative now to .mobi? What is .com's role becoming, more important or less important (not .com.cn :red?

So the mobile phone internet domain name is the medium for world access to information, and soon, the global finance system..(like payment method and PPC) for the common man.. I think this is history in the making.. Dot Mobi is there..

Just looking at domaining - A new .Mobi may lift the awareness of this trade to the mainstream; thus, uplifting the value of all internet real estate domain extensions alongside it - as long as ICANN holds par. The domain name is the central valve of communication between the human beings and the computer network (through keystrokes). The domain name is least among computer technology counterparts to become obsolete. The domain name is powerful.. especially if there is gonna be often a ".mobi" nickname at the end of bigtime mobile sites.. It's like someone branding your private parts by looking in your underwear everytime you put it on and seeing "Calvin Klein" or "Haynes" nickname on it.. Don't underestimate the power of a nickname on the minds of the masses.. that nickname will forever propogate with all those corporations united under it taking on the world to dominate..

With all our advances, 35,000 people die every day of hunger and hunger related diseases.. I'm gonna try to do as much as I can and hope this Dot Mobi gang gears to save life.

What is the root cause of war and violence? The Internet, on the phone, can save humans lives en masse in a way that working on the front line (as I did briefly) can't.. they need access to those who control and have the resources - the mainstream. Putting a picture like this on a mobile phone site can make a real difference..

Like, also, when the Pope went to the mosque in Syria, removed his shoes, and then went for the reading from the Quran in the courtyard - that's history that needs to be heard.. for peace..

I can confirm this is the case in Uganda of all places. I am getting involved in a project there and while few PC's are to be found there are plenty of cell phones. You are right Yelo, the coding standards help to unify the mobile space, from the free burner to the iPhone and even to the PC. It is all about accessibility and and breaks down barriers. My daily cell phone is a freebie Nokia. Before .mobi sites came along I had little to no access to internet content with it. This type of phone is in the hands of the masses. Mobi opens the internet and the world to them.
