Hello,

I am in process of starting a website which will buy digital goods from users (in this specific case it is ingame skins for some of the games on steam platform). These goods/skins have value, but some of the users might not be aware that they can get cash for it.

Currently big issues for me is picking the domain name. I keep buying some of the available ones, but i cannot make final decision.

What do you guys think about domain names with numbers? I do not mean like hornygirlsinyourarea1122887.com
I am talking about domains like "cash4gold.com"?
I basically have a domain like that "cash4skins.com"

i also got following domains:
cashforskins.com
cashfourskins.com
cashforskin.com
cashfourskin.com
(just in case of typos)

I do not own: cash4skin.com but industry standard name is "skins" plural

I also got:
sellskins.net
sellskin.net

sellskins.com is for sale for $2.2k and i do not really want to pay that much.

All my customers will be gamers, so most should be somewhat tech savy. Some of the competition has .io, .cash, .money extensions. Like skins.cash, skins.money. Some other sites which are more of a market place where they offer service to other users to sell to each other have more brandable names, like opskins.com, bitskins.com

Most of my visitors will come from sponsored content on youtube, twitch, social media pages/ads, other gaming media, reddit ads, affiliates and word of mouth.

I like both of the domains i got but in both cases i am unsure, .com one i think sounds really good and memorable, but how good is it? .net one i also like also, but i am unsure because it is .net? also it is more "generic" which i think it might be harder to find if user does google search instead of directly entering url.

Sigh .. the problems of having too many choices! lol

I'd say the negative of having the 4 in the .com isn't bad enough to be offset by not having it in the .com (in .net).

But it will depend mostly on how you plan on marketing the site. If you expect a lot of word of mouth then the # is a bigger negative factor. However you also owning the "for" equivalent offsets that factor.

You might want to try talking to the owner of the .com you want most about perhaps leasing the domain. Paying a bit more, but stretched over a longer period of time.

imo , aesthetically the "4" looks better.

Perhaps you should check out the search volumes for each of the terms above and see which ones yield the highest amount of searches, might help you make a decision. (Assuming you will be going after search traffic as part of ur marketing strategy)

I think you should go a different route so your name doesn't include foreskin.

lol .. and that's the #1 reason for asking multiple people for feedback ... because sometimes a lot of us can miss the painfully obvious! ;)

How about skinstocash? Try swapping it, does it make sense?

cashforskins.com and cash4skins.com would be my choice.

If you don't have cash4skins.com, don't use cash4skin.com it'll leak traffic to plural version.

Keep them all and forward the others to the one you develop.
